Leland
Bohannon
A Pilot for Change in New Mexico
Humble Beginnings
Leland spent his childhood on the East coast in the suburbs of Maryland. He started his working career in seventh grade rising early every morning to deliver the daily news to over 120 of his neighbors, rain or shine. He took that same work ethic and applied it in school. As a young man, Leland was accepted to the US Air Force Academy, where he earned a degree and a commission in the United States Air Force.

Leland served for 25 years as an Air Force pilot, flying several different aircraft including the venerable B-52 and the B-2 stealth bomber. He has commanded at multiple levels and deployed multiple times to the Middle East and the Pacific. Serving in the military impressed upon him the importance of understanding our Constitution, its role in our nation’s historical success, and why it is important we defend it. Moving 13 times in his military career has given him the opportunity to live among people from all walks of life. It has also shown him how the principled freedoms contained in our founding documents have been a true blessing to Americans all across our country.
Service to Country
Family
After retiring from the military, Leland has continued to serve in the private sector, consulting and advising the Air Force on nuclear and strategic capabilities. But most importantly, he and his wife of 20 years take great joy in raising their five children, helping them to grow in wisdom, discernment, and a desire to serve others in the community.
